building up a velo orange pass hunter

i recently acquired a heavily discounted velo orange pass hunter frame set. my favorite local shop had them discounted to a third of the retail price, so i snagged the last one (that happened to be my size!). looking for it to be my faster geared bike, suitable to all day rides, but not heavily loaded touring or cargo carrying.

it's my first foray into some more modern standards, like disc brakes, integrated shifting/brake levers, thru axles. i'm unsure if i'll be sold or not! surely there are some benefits to be had, and i look forward to trying them out (and learning how to install and maintain some new things!).
